Happy Halloween

For Maddy's first Halloween, we went downtown Salt Lake with my mom when she was here to check out the "Halloween Extravaganza".  It was the most gorgeous day, probably in the high 60s.  The event was great, it had lots of kid craft areas, several tables set up by different vendors and businesses and they were all handing out candy, a pumpkin drop from the top of a firetruck latter, an area where you could pet animals, a Halloween choo-choo train, and TONS of great costumes (on little and big kids!).  Maddy was dressed up as a lady bug (thanks Brenda for letting us use Adelaide's old costume), and was the cutest bug I had ever seen

We made it to the Extravaganza and had so much fun with the Burbanks and Grammer!

There were  bunnies, sheep, and goats to pet, but Maddy was quite sure about petting any of them.

The event was outside, but inside one of the buildings, there was a station where
the kids could decorate cookies.  They had sprinkles and frosting in little cups and
then the kids were given the sugar cookies to decorate.  Maddy was loving the sprinkles.

Cutest bug took her cookie to go.

We didn't even know it but poor little Maddy had a fever when we were there.  We thought she felt warm, but it was hard to tell because it was so warm out and she had her costume on.  But I should have known because she kept cuddling with me while we were there and she NEVER wants to cuddle unless she's sick!

On Halloween we went to Grandma and Grandpa Olsen's for Grandma's birthday
and had her traditional chili meal!  It was fun being with family and seeing
Marty and Christopher's boys dressed up and the Park kids dressed up.

Maddy was trying to chase Grandma's dog, Molly, all over.

Okay, so Halloween really was for Mitch and I this year.  But who can resist all of the adorable outfits for little ones?!  After dinner at Grandma's we then went trick-or-treating with Ellie, Luke and Ezra.  I had to make sure to bring Maddy with me up to all of the doors to get the candy so they didn't think I was just getting the candy for myself - even though it really was for me!  I let Maddy pick out the candy, but she kept going for ones I didn't like, I'll have to train her better for next year.  And, of course, Maddy hadn't had candy before, but really wasn't a big fan of any chocolate and some were to little to try, but she did enjoy the smarties - yuck!
