Updates at 18 Months!

18 MONTHS
Updates with Madeline:

24lbs, 32"

She is more independent than ever!  She loves to walk up and down a step - but she will pretty much go flying down the step and then say "Whoa!".  Is never scared whenI leave her with someone new.
She loves making friends and showing her "cuteness" to others.

She loves taking tops off anything - lotions, milk and juice containers, bottles and sippys, water bottles, soap and detergent bottles - you name it, anything that has a top!

Loves to rough house - the highlight of my day is seeing her play and jump all over daddy when he comes home.  She will run into him full force and collapse, or she'll run in between his  legs; and she loves when he throws her up in the air.

She is not my girlie-girl.  She doesn't like barrettes, bows, ribbons or really anything in her hair; she doesn't like frilly dresses or shirts that have sequins, ruffles - basically they have to be plain.  and if I do put a "girlie" outfit on her and bows in her hair, it sounds like World War III at our house!  Her shoes and socks are always off too - I've pretty much given up this battle.

It's the same thing every night - she HATES getting dried off, having lotion put on and having her pajamas put on.  But she loves to sit on the bed and go "Mmmm" with her lips all puckered up for Daddy to give her kisses goodnight - this is the game they play - she keeps doing it over and over and he keeps running over and squishes her face and gives her kisses.  Maddy still has Daddy wrapped around her finger.

We've been loving the nice weather outside, and Madeline could literally play outside all day long.  She also has a fascination for our neighbor Chris' front door.  She'll go next door, climb up the steps, and then just sit on his front door.  She's my tomboy - I'll find her playing in the dirt outside and her new thing is to squish and step on ants.  She still loves dogs and will run over to the neighbors (Merideth's and Tony's) and peer through the fence to watch their "ouu ouus" (still how she refers to doggies).

She is a little helper - since she loves to go outside, she is always saying "bye-bye" and "shoes" and then will go to my closet or daddy's and get our shoes (pretty much all of them).

I think she has an imaginary friend - I hear her in the morning and when she wakes up from her nap and other times through out the day saying "no" and "yes" handing her toys or snacks out to someone!

She's got most of her body parts down, loves to say "bye" to everyone and every dog she sees, and really doesn't care if me or daddy are around - she takes off running at the aquarium, parks, children's museum, libraries, and pretty much any other place she can run.

Timeouts - although we haven't had to put her in many, she knows what "timeout" means (and knows that she doesn't want to be put in one!  She definitely pushes the limit with Mommy and Daddy at times, throwing fits or throwing her food, but for the most part she is our sweet little angel.

Has gotten a lot pickier about eating.  She used to love to eat everything, but now there are definite staples that we have to have in the house: eggs, cheese, noodles, bananas, peanut butter (only on a spoon), raisins, pretzels, and broccoli (okay, I didn't include the junk food she gets every now and again - like fruit snacks and mini marshmallows - but moms aren't suppose to include that stuff!).  Yup, that pretty much sums up food that I know she'll always eat.  Of course I try other things, but she is pretty stubborn about trying new things - so I give into her "list".

Still our busy, busy girl.  She is always moving.  Really, I have to keep thinking of new things to do to keep her entertained!  Thank goodness it has been getting warmer outside - the best play area ever!

She is just the happiest friendliest little girl.  She loves to say "hi" and "bye" to EVERYONE.  And if the don't respond, she will keep saying hi until they give in.  She gets so excited about things - playing on slides, seeing her friends and cousins, playing outside, saying "cheese" when the camera is on her,
loves saying "love YOU" a million times when she goes to bed to Mommy and Daddy and
giving kisses.  She really is the best little girl.  Since she's still my baby, I can't help but
still rock her when she goes to sleep - it is my favorite part of the day!
She is just growing up so fast!  Love you my sweet Madeline!

So happy playing on the chairs at Babies R Us.

Peek-a-Boo while hiding in the laundry basket!

Loving her books - at the Aquarium she manages to find
the one area that has the books!

She could play with her friends all day - and of course is
loving reading books with them.

Maddy loves playing with her cousins.

Outside is Maddy's favorite place to be.
She is my little tomboy.

When we were looking at the house we just bought,
Maddy found the toys outside and was in Heaven.

Silly girl - crawling in a tote bag
while Daddy reads our Scriptures at night.

Really into playing "pretend" right now.
Her favorite is making different "soups".

At music class, Maddy gets so into the songs
and loves to dance around.

Playing with stickers while watching General Conference.
She loves to play with stickers and color.

More playing at Discovery Gateway!
She always finds the cart and then takes
it all over the place.

She LOVES making friends and is not shy at all.
She will go right up to someone and then want
to hold their hand, no matter the age.
Oh I just love her outgoing personality.

She looks happy - but getting her in this dress
and piggies was no small feat!
Still absolutely the sweetest and cutest girl I know

Mommy loves you so MUCH!!
