Christmas in Michigan

We spent Christmas with my family this year in Michigan and, even though there was no snow, we had a great time.  Madeline and I were there two weeks (and Daddy came for one), but the time went by so fast.  We managed to keep busy every moment!

Madeline had so much fun spending the night at Grammer's and Grandpa Bill's.
I took the train to Chicago the next morning to pick up Aunt Erin,
Harry, Isabella and Miller so we could all make the trek back to Michigan!

Miller and one of his confused faces that we love!

Belle loving on Madeline - maybe a little too much for Maddy!

Our fun nightly routine was bathtime with Mr. Miller!

Another fun way that we kept ourselves busy was going to the Mall!
Grammer met Aunt Erin and I and all the kids, and they were loving every moment
of playing on the slides and going around the mall on the choo choo train!

Tired out after a fun day playing!

Christmas with the Baxters! It was so great to have Aunt K.C. and Uncle Jeff
come over to celebrate Christmas the Sunday before, and it was wonderful to have all
of their kids their too!  We had lots of fun eating and playing games - and of course
we had to get the annual family photo!  I don't have a picture of it here,
but I'm pretty sure we all made it in this year!

The before attempts in getting a family photo!

Finally Daddy was in Michigan!

Christmas Eve and Grammer's and Grandpa Bill's!  This year Bill,
who usually cooks a feast, went through so much with having heart surgery.
So Erin and I happily made the dinner: lasagna, white chicken lasagna,
breadsticks, salad and oreo popcorn (it was great!).  We had a great time
opening presents and doing our family favorite of going around the dinner
table and saying what we've been most grateful for this past year - wow
it is such an amazing reminder of the wonderful things that have happened in our lives!

Time for bed to see what more presents Santa has brought in the morning!

Christmas! We woke up to a tree full of presents and got started right
away on making Christmas brunch!  We had grits casserole, monkey bread, and
blueberries and bananas (thank goodness that I got these recipes from Grammy!).
It was a wonderful day filled with opening presents, watching the kids play (and
playing with their new toys with them!), taking naps, and having a nice dinner to end the day.
It's so wonderful to be with family during Christmas.

Our view from the deck - it wasn't the prettiest day,
but we still love looking at the water!

Our excited Christmas faces!

Erin and I loved our new scarves from Nummie!

Maddy couldn't get enough of playing with Lucy!

Loving being twins with her cousin Belle in their
new Christmas jammies!

Being with family is always the best Christmas present ever.  We had such a wonderful time with my family.  We are so blessed to have such a wonderful family that loves us so much.  We love you!!
