Summer Fun

This summer has been filled with lots of fun activities - swimming at Grandma and Grandpa Olsen's, BBQs, going to St. George, hiking, being with family and friends, and more swimming!  Here are some pics to recap what we've been up to this summer.

Memorial Weekend!
Maddy and her dad having a snack before jumping in the pool.

Maddy loves pool time but is easily entertained with her cracker wrapper!

I think Maddy could spend every day at the pool.  It has been wonderful living so close to Grandma and Grandpa Olsen's and swimming at their pool.  Maddy is such a lucky girl!

 Swimming with Friends!
Maddy and her friend Lola swimming at Grandma and Grandpa Olsens!

I think Maddy enjoyed being with Lola more than Lola did!

Maddy has become good friends with my girlfriend, Brenda's, daughter, Lola.  They live right down the street from us, so we have gone swimming together, to the library, and just playing together!
Lola has an older sister that is three, so I don't think Lola was as excited to be
around Maddy as Maddy was to be around her!

Lola even let Maddy wear her floaty swimsuit!  I had to make sure to hold onto her i
n the pool because she was a little top heavy and would go in face first!

Shaved Ice

We introduced Maddy to shaved ice, and she is a big fan.  There are shaved iced little shacks all over Utah, and one right across the street that we have visited frequently.  I gave her a shaved ice when we were at the zoo and let her eat it on the way home, but I think she got brain freeze when I heard her crying - so I had to take it away from her!  We have still held off on giving her sugar (well at least sweets - aside from what her cousins have sneaked in her mouth!), so I can only imagine how much she'll love flavored shaved ice.  We're trying to wait until she turns one for the big unveiling of sweets - I'm sure it will be all over by then!

Seven Peaks
We braved the crowds one Saturday and took Maddy to the Seven Peaks waterpark.
She wasn't really a fan of the splash pad, but she absolutely loved the lazy river,
Mitch swam with her around the river again, and again, and again!

BBQs

We went to our friends' house (Luke and Holley Burbank) for a BBQ with their kids and
some other friends.  Summer isn't complete without a good fill of hot dogs and hamburgers!
Maddy was loving being with other kids her size - she was loving the wagon ride until it
got a little bumpy.  She looks like such a big girl in the wagon!

Hogle Zoo

Maddy's first visit to the zoo was a hit.  Grammy took me, Sharee and little Beau one day for a fun outing to the zoo.  Maddy would get so excited watching the animals and especially loved the polar bear and sea lion.  Poor Beau was having a major heat flash and had to be stripped down to his onsie!  We all had to cool down with some ice cream - and Maddy had her shaved ice!
