6 months

Spotlight on Madeline at 6 months!

She is such a loud mouth! She loves to hear herself and make lots of noises,
she is into blowing lots of bubble (especially when she’s eating),
she loves watching other kids too – and she is really great with other people.

She really is a happy baby.  It is so fun to make her laugh.
She loves when I play hid and see with her behind the chairs.

She loves bath time too.  I think she could stay in there for hours.
She has a little turtle finger puppet that she loves to suck on.
And she is so smart – she was playing on her mat the other day and saw her bath toy
and starting to such on it again thinking there would be water in it because there usually is!

She loves being tickled on her sides (she likes it when I eat her like a corn on the cob –
she goes nuts laughing), being read to, and she loves to laugh when we dance.

In the mornings we read books to her stuff animals
(she goes bonkers with her stuff animals too – loves her Piggy!).

And I love putting her to bed – when she falls asleep on me,
I love just rocking her and kissing her – those are the sweetest moments!

My favorite is when I lay her down and put her head in between her legs,
and we just stare at each other and she plays with my face and coos.
Those are the moments my hearts melt.

Here are some fun pics of our little Madeline at 6 months:

I love my Piggy!

When Maddy wakes up, I surround her with her friends,
then she chooses one to love..

or maybe nibble a little...

or a lot...

or maybe too much - but really she's loving them .

Her next victim!

Baby girl was sad about her morning hair!

Loves putting everything in her mouth -truly a talented child.

So much fun playing with mom at 6:00am!

The first time mom came in and saw me sitting up!
Time for mom to move the pack 'n play pad down to the bottom!!

So many changes with our little Madeline in the past month – I can hardly believe she is already 6 months!!  Her 6 month appointment went great, she weighed 15.2 oz and is just above the 50% percentile for height.  She is eating baby food like crazy, so far her favorites are sweet potatoes and bananas.  She really is a great eater though, has tried peas, squash, prunes (had a little constipation last week but that cleared it right up!!), apples, pears, carrots, and peaches.  I’ve been trying to give her some “real people” food too – so far she likes bananas, gold fish and Ritz crackers (she probably gets that from living with Gumpy!).  She is so so strong too!  She lifts her head up all the time when laying down and is getting ready to crawl.  So far she scoots backwards and hasn’t figures out how to go forward yet.  She can sit up on her own and is a wiggle worm when laying down – she does like a back bend move and scoots her head forward while kicking her feet up and pushing down.  She loves to play with tags on stuff animals and baby toys, she stares at them so intently and then starts sucking away!

Well, I finally moved her out of our room last week.  It was hard but good too – I made the other guest bedroom across from our room her bedroom and put all her stuff in it so it looked cute.  We are so so fortunate to be able to stay at Gummy and Gumpy’s and have a room for her to stay in too.  She hasn’t slept through the night since she’s been in there, but I don’t let her cry it out either.  I just figure it only takes a second to feed her – and I don’t like to hear my baby crying!  Plus she has been sick.  You never would have know it from her attitude either!  At her six month appointment, she had a double ear infection, a sinus infection and a rasping in her throat!!  The doctor gave us some medicine and wants us to come back this Friday.  He even asked if she had swallowed something and that was why there was a rattling noise in her throat – he wants to take xrays if it doesn’t go away when we go to see him again. My poor pumpkin!!  She sounds much better but still gets a runny nose.  She is such a tough cookie!  She is still in her pack 'n play, but she seems to love it – we are going to my sister’s this Saturday, so we’ll have to see how she does sleeping in a crib!  I do miss her popping up to look at us when she was sleeping in our room though.  Since we haven’t lowered the mat on the pack n play, when she would wake up, she would lift her head up and look over at us on the bed, it was so cute!  Some mornings if I wasn’t sure if she was asleep or not, I would peer over the pillows on our bed to look at her and hope that she wouldn’t see me, but if she did, it was all over and she’d get so excited.

I absolutely love this stage right now!.
