Updates and Trip to Florida

Updates with Madeline!

I spotted Maddy's first tooth!  She has been drooling a ton (I have to resort to using bibs), 

and I looked in her little mouth yesterday and saw that her right little tooth coming in!

She is able to roll over - only from being on her tummy to going on her back right now. 

She has discovered her voice. She loves to make loud noises, 

loves to blow raspberries and yes, spitting at people!  

Her hand is her new best friend, constantly sucking on it, 

and occasionally getting the whole fist in there.  

She is giggling more and more, especially if I hold her up in the air 

and bring her towards me, or if I’m biting at her ribs.  

She gets frustrated at her toys if she can’t put them in her mouth,

 and she loves drinking the bath water when she is taking a bath 

– moving her head all the way to the side and then licking the water like a puppy!

  

Trip to Florida:

Last week we went to Florida and Maddy had her first time swimming and going on the beach!  

She loved the pool, her favorite was swimming with someone and being pulled around the water.  We put her in an infant inner tube too; she didn’t love that as much.

She watched Elmo for the first time in Florida too -

not sure what she thinks about him yet!

So much fun being with Aunt Erin and Grammer in Florida!

We had such a great time in Florida.  The weather was absolutely beautiful, and it was so wonderful to be with my family.  My dad picked us up at the airport (we arrived around 9:00pm) and Maddy was sound asleep in her carseat.  Being a first time mom, I wasn't sure if I should leave her or put her in the pack 'n play - so of course I called my sister.  Her rule:  never wake a sleeping baby!  So, when we got to my dad's house, I brought her upstairs with me and put her in the carseat in the room next to mine.  And she slept through the night in her carseat!  We had lots of fun going to the beach, Maddy wasn't too sure about the sand and definitely didn't like the ocean (we'll have to try again next year).  But the pool was great!  Mitch came on Thursday and was able to stay until Monday when we all went home.  It worked out so great that my mom and Bill were staying i,n Florida for the month of March, so I got to spend time with all of my family!
